CONSTITUTION OF

TAHOE AMATEUR RADIO ASSOCIATION



PREAMBLE: We the undersigned, wishing to secure for ourselves the pleasure and benefits of the association of persons commonly interested in Amateur Radio, constitute ourselves the Tahoe Amateur Radio Association and enact this Constitution as our governing law.

It shall be our purpose to further the exchange of information and cooperation between members, to promote radio knowledge, fraternization and individual operation efficiency, and to so conduct club programs and activities as to advance the general interest and welfare of amateur radio in the community.

ARTICLE I MEMBERSHIP:

All persons interested in amateur radio communications shall be eligible for membership.

ARTICLE II OFFICERS:

Sec. 1 The officers of this club shall be: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.

Sec. 2 Five Directors elected from the General Full Membership.

ARTICLE III

Sec. 1 The President shall preside at all meetings of this club and conduct the same according to the rules adopted. He/she shall enforce due observance of this constitution and By-Laws; decide all questions of order; sign all official documents that are adopted by the club, and none other, and perform all other customary duties pertaining to the office of president.

Sec. 2 The Vice President shall assume all duties of the President in the absence of the latter.

Sec. 3 The Secretary shall keep a record of the proceedings of all meetings, carry on all correspondence, read all communications at each meeting. He/she shall at the expiration of his/her term turn over everything in his/her possession belonging to the club to his/her successor.

Sec. 4 The Treasurer shall receive and receipt for all monies paid to the club; he/she shall keep an accurate account of all monies received and expended. He/she shall at the expiration of his/her term turn over everything in his/her possession belonging to the club to his/her successor after a full audit.

ARTICLE IV MEETINGS:

The bylaws shall provide for regular and special meetings.

ARTICLE V MEMBERSHIP ASSISTANCE

The Club shall maintain a program to foster and guide public relations.

ARTICLE VI AMENDMENTS:

Proposals for amendments in by-laws or constitution shall be submitted in writing to the Board Of Directors and shall be voted on at the next regular meeting, provided all members have been notified by mail or electronic email of the intent to amend the constitution and or by-laws. Adoption of changes will be by a two thirds vote of members present. Absentee ballots must be in by said regular meeting to be counted.

ARTICLE VII RULES:

ROBERTS RULES OF ORDER shall be the parliamentary authority for all matters of procedure not specifically covered by these by-laws.
