America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride
June 1st, 2008

A TARA Communication Exercise

Start/Finish

WELL DONE TARA !!
Dear AMBBR Volunteers,

Dear AMBBR Volunteers,

The 17th Annual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride will go down in history as one of the safest in recent years.  We had but a hand full of mishaps and only one transport. I am still receiving comments from participants stating how well the event was put together and the great and friendly Volunteers manning the Rest Stops and other services offered that day.

We appreciate all your efforts to make this year’s ride a huge success.  We could not have done it with out you and your organization.

In appreciation for your hard work, I would like to invite you to attend our America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride Volunteer Appreciation Barbecue and Awards, which will be

held in conjunction with the Tour of the Carson – Barbecue & Ice Cream Social, Sunday

June 22 at Mormon State Park in Genoa, NV.   If you would like to participant as a bike

Rider in any of our ride options, you are welcomed to do so as well.  Barbecue will start

at 11:30am and I will be doing our awards presentation around 1:00pm.

Please check out the information at

BiketheWest.Com.

Once again, Thank you for all your hard work and effort to make the 17th Annual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride a huge Success.  Mark your 2009 calendar for Sunday, June 7 for next year’s event and if you also involved with Tour de Tahoe – Bike Big Blue coming up on Sunday, September 7, I look forward to  your continued support.

Sincerely,

A big event with 3000+ riders! Of course, the event went beyond its time frame and thanks to you hanging in there ,
the ride was well represented from start to finish. TARA performed as a first class communication team under adverse conditions.

Special thanks to Dick Young, for his efforts at putting it all together. Including the PROJECT 73 portable repeater that worked the entire ride!!

An After Note from Dick - KD7JMR
June 2nd

A mighty fine ride!
Expertise at every turn.
The ride coordinator got shook up a few times but all radio operators performed in a most professional manner.
You are a tribute to TARA and to Amateur Radio. Thank you!
Dick
