What an EVENT! Congratulations TARA Members....
W7KJU Comm Van John & Sheila How many bikes did they say? n6yma - Yup! 3Bikes, 3 Riders, and my wife! where's the bathroom?? ah This rides not so tough!! N7NM, W7KJU, & KD7LBJ at the control point He said HE'D bring the HF RADIO A big event with 3100 riders! Of course, the event went beyond its time frame and thanks to you hanging in there, the ride was well represented from start to finish.TARA performed as a first class communication team under adverse conditions.
Special thanks to John Sloane, and his XYL Sheila, for their efforts at putting it all together. There were many who carried their volunteer spirit beyond expectations, including Bob Evans N6YMA who was ready to head home when we discovered there were more bikes then the SAG wagons could support. Check out the picture with 3 (yes, that's 3) bikes packed in the back along with riders AND his WIFE!!!
Dick and DICK (kj7uk and kd7jmr) were holding down the fort in distant Truckee. Ask them who forgot what radio!!!
JoAnn, n7mbm and Mike, w7mjb, were passed by the lunch wagon (where's the beef?), But still hung out extra time to ensure those last riders got through!
Jack and Penny performed like pros for their first communication outing!
Bob, NR7A, held down the 28 rest stop and took some great pictures, including his relief, Mauro, wa6sim. Roger and Peggy were the North end anchors at kings beach with there hands full of riders (and lunches!!) Al, w1lvn, and Helen took control of the Spooner rest stop and kept all in check for that last leg home. Mike, kd7dkp, took time out from his busy practice of neurology, and calmed some nerves over at the Vikingsholm stop. And finally, the comm van teams of Todd and Zetta, AL and Alice, Matt, and Kirby and Gary all did yeoman jobs of communicating under pressure.
Good practice under trying conditions for all... take a bow !!
